Our History

East West Engineering’s founder Ron King started out running a steel fabrication business in Sydney where he was contracted on large-scale metalwork projects across Darling Harbour’s major public works in the 1980s, including the Royal Botanic Garden, the Powerhouse Museum, and the Maritime Museum.

It was during these projects that he recognised a growing need for certified, engineered lifting equipment on worksites. In response, he designed and manufactured the company’s first lifting jibs, the beginning of a long tradition of innovative, customer-focused solutions.

Formally established as East West Engineering, the company quickly earned a reputation for providing safe, compliant, and reliable material handling equipment backed by expert engineering support. What began with a small range of forklift and crane attachments rapidly expanded into hundreds of customised and specialised handling solutions for construction, agriculture, and industry.

Operating from a purpose-built facility in Sydney with a team of in-house engineers and production facility, East West Engineering continues to lead the industry in design innovation.
